Come and Join us at the Event Production Show

Event Production Show - We invite you to stand D13E for a friendly chat about your technical needs.

On the 26th & 27th May, we’ll be exhibiting at the Event Production Show at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Dedicated to the live events industry across sports, music and culture. EPS 2021 will be the first major conference and physical gathering of events industry professionals in over a year. It will be essential for the live events industry before the live event summer season by providing an important platform for companies to secure new and desperately needed business.

EPS is the longest-running event designed for all event professionals involved in running outdoor events; including festivals, sporting events, corporate and brand experiences, local authority events and stadium/arena tours.

Press Red Rentals will be exhibiting at the Event Production Show, our first time exhibiting at this show. We invite you to come to stand D13E for a friendly chat about your technical requirements for your events and how we can assist as your technical partner.

The Event Production Show gives us the perfect opportunity to find out the needs of the industry as it starts the recovery from lockdown. We can then use this research to fine tune our offering of technical products and support. We won’t be at EPS to do the hard sell; we’ll be there to listen and learn.

Naturally, we’ll be running our stand in a Covid-secure manner, with plenty of sanitiser on hand for visitors, gallons of disinfectant to wipe down between visitors, and face masks where needed. And by the time we get to Farnborough, we’ll have had both of our Covid vaccine jabs (sadly, some of us are that old). Your well being is our priority.

For more information about our attendance at the Event Production Show, why not check out our profile in the show guide here

If you’re not in a position to travel to Farnborough, but would like to discuss your technical requirements in more detail, please get in touch for a chat. Physical or “Virtually”, we’d love to talk to you. We look forward to seeing or talking with you soon!

Press Red Rentals will be exhibiting at A-Livex

Press Red Rentals will be exhibiting at A-Livex on the 20th May 2021 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

The brainchild of Mash Media, the organisers of International Confex, A-Livex will be one of the first major indoor events to run in the UK after the lifting of restrictions for indoor meetings in Step Three of the Governments’ Covid RoadMap out of Lockdown.

Attendance at A-Livex is exclusively for event organisers and admittance will be via a screening process, there will be a conference programme with a keynote speaker and panel discussions, with the content agenda set to include lessons learned, industry structure, and looking ahead to 2021.

Press Red Rentals will be one of just fifty suppliers to the event industry exhibiting at A-Livex. All suppliers will have their own room at the Royal Lancaster to use as either an exhibition space or meeting room and visitors will need to register to make scheduled appointments.

We are currently working on the design of the space we will be using for exhibiting at A-Livex, and will be posting more information here soon.

Press Red Rentals gains coveted ESSA Accredited status

Telford based AV specialist Press Red Rentals has achieved ESSA Accredited status, becoming only the second exhibition AV supplier in the UK to do so.

Derek Tallent, managing director of Press Red Rentals, explained, “Our business is based firmly in the exhibition market, even though we’ve temporarily had to become a courier service to keep the business operating. When the exhibition industry resumes, it is essential that organisers, exhibitors, and contractors can differentiate between potential suppliers, and our ESSA accreditation will let them do just that.”

ESSA Accredited is an annual company-level qualification. Independently audited, it provides demonstrable proof that the member company is operating at the required level to meet stage one requirements of assessing competence under CDM 2015.

“ESSA Accreditation is important to companies like Press Red Rentals, that are not involved in construction-related activities, and we can apply for a ‘non-construction related’ accreditation. In an ever-increasingly competitive environment, everyone in the exhibitions industry is constantly seeking ways to differentiate between suppliers this accreditation gives us a clear point of differentiation,” added Tallent.

Andrew Harrison, ESSA director, added, “I am delighted we have successfully accredited Press Red Rentals, particularly because they’ve achieved it during the most trying times our industry has seen. It exemplifies the value of the scheme to small and medium-sized businesses, providing them with a competitive advantage that organisers, clients and venues recognise.”

Getting back to business

A challenging week this week. Encouraging news from the Supreme Leader that we might be back in an exhibition hall this side of Christmas, as long as everyone behaves nicely and plays by the rules.

This positive start was then soured by the news that another three Audio-Visual equipment hire firms were either selling up or going bust. This is a direct result of an industry being forced out of business by a government that is deliberately choosing to not support an entire industry.

It gives me no pleasure to see competitors disappear. There will be staff facing an uncertain future, and inevitably skills that will be lost to the events industry forever. This can’t continue.

The demise of others makes me more determined to make sure that we survive so we are back on site when we’re allowed to be. I’ve been working in AV hire for over thirty-five years – we need to survive this so I’ve still got a job. No one wants to employ grumpy old gits anymore!

The encouraging thing is that we are now starting to see an uplift in enquiries for quotes from Q3 onwards both in the UK and Europe. If you haven’t asked me for a hire quote, why not get in touch?

Normally at this time of year we’d be heading down to Nuremberg for Embedded World. Here’s a gratuitous photo of a job from 2019…
