The Allen & Heath QU-24 Digital Mixer is a 30 in / 24 out mixing desk.
It offers 24 Mono Mic/Line Inputs (Mic on XLR, Line on Jack) and 3 Stereo Line inputs on Jacks. There are 20 mix outputs (4 mono, 5 stereo and L/R) available on XLR connectors. The QU-24 also allows for multitrack recording directly to a USB stick. In addition, streaming to a computer via USB makes a QU-24 act as a 32out/30in audio interface.
The Allen & Heath Qu-24 has 24 fader strips, one per channel. These provide access to the input and master channel levels and processing. The main channel levels, master levels and all sends to the FX and mixes are easily viewable and adjustable using the faders. The faders are motorised and move instantly to show the current settings when the layer or function changes. Each input channel has on-board processing including noise gate, parametic EQ, compressor, delay and ducker. All outputs have a parametric EQ, graphic EQ, compressor and delay.
There are three fader layers: mono channels (layer one), stereo channels, FX returns, FX sends and Mix masters (layer two). Layer three is the custom layer where you can choose which channels have fader access. The Allen & Heath QU-24 Digital Mixer provides a dedicated fader strip for the mix masters. 4 mute groups, 4 DCA groups and 2 stereo groups are also provided. these allow the control of the levels of groups of channels or mixes.
The QU-24 features 4 internal stereo FX (effects) processors. Each can be loaded from a library of different effects types and presets. An automatic mic mixer function is also available on the QU-24,
There is also the facility to control the QU-24 wirelessly by iPad. A range of digital stage boxes allow audio to be sent up to 100m from the QU-24 over a single CAT5 cable. Connection to the ME personal mixing system is also available from the Allen & Heath QU-24 Digital Mixer.
